Museum Wayang (Banyumas) Group 3

  • Description

This museum was built since 1982, until the current museum building is still being developed. Sendang Mas name is a shortened form of puppetry art of Banyumas. The assertion confirms how different gagrag Banyumasan  puppets with other types of puppets.

The collection of the museum is not only a kind of puppet that reflects the trajectory of history, but also a number of tools such as puppet shows, blencong as a means of lighting, gamelan as raw puppet musical instruments, musical instruments gagrag calung as Banyumasan up pakeliran or screen. A number of collections of the Sendang Mas Museum include gagrag Banyumasan, gagrag Yogyakarta, Krucil puppet, Prajuritan puppet, Kidang Kencana Puppet, Purwa Puppet, Menak puppet, beber puppet, leather purwa puppet, Gamelan Slendro, Calung/Angklung, Calligraphy Letter Java, Puppet Suket/Adam Marifat, Banyumas first Tempo, and much more. Banyumas Puppet Museum is one-storey building with an area of ​​250 m2, on the ground 2000 m2 in the center of the old complex Banyuma district. Banyumas Puppet Museum building was previously a regent paseban guests. Puppet Museum inaugurated its allocation be Banyumas on December 31, 1982.

There are still many other interesting collections can be seen at the Museum Wayang Banyumas. In addition, I also saw a book Chronicle Banyumas in Indonesian.
